Look for abundance

For most of my life, I lived in a world of fear and lack. I was afraid that I didn’t have enough, or that it would all be taken from me somehow.

When you live in that mindset, it not only makes you unhappy, but you end up doing weird things like hoarding stuff that you’ll never need but what if you did?

Then I read this book about abundance. So I started looking at what was in my life in abundance.

You can do this too. Look at what you have in your life right now in abundance — much more than you need.

Do you have an abundance of food? Clothing? Do you live alone in a 5 bedroom house? Do you have an abundance of weeds in your front yard? Junk in your home? Two dollar bills? It can be anything you have much more of than you need right now.

If you want to, write it down!

If you live in Seattle, you have an abundance of rain. If you live in Arizona, you have an abundance of sun. If you live in Chicago, you have an abundance of wind.

It’s not good, it’s not bad, it just is. A cornucopia of abundance. Lots and lots of things!

This is sort of like the gratitude exercise, but it helps you to see how much abundance is all around you, how the world really is not a fearful empty place, but a place that is bursting with things just for you, more than you will ever need.

What is most abundant around you? What can you do with your abundance? If you like, you can write your thoughts here.
